The estate

A house, gardens,
and room to breathe.

Douneside does not need to be dressed into something it is not. The house has its own character, the gardens are part of the day, and the valley gives the whole celebration a sense of privacy. It is formal when it needs to be, relaxed when it should be, and always rooted in the place itself.

Guests can stay in the house or in the cottages throughout the grounds, with the pool, gardens, bar and dining all close at hand.

Food and drink

Douneside’s award-winning chefs, dedicated to your day

The kitchen at Douneside works with what the walled garden gives and what Royal Deeside does best. Wedding menus should feel generous, seasonal and personal, whether that means a quiet dinner for a few guests or a full exclusive use celebration.

The same kitchen behind Douneside’s three-AA-Rosette dining prepares the food, with the garden only a short walk from the house.

Stay together

Rooms and cottages,
within beautiful grounds.

One of Douneside’s strengths is that the celebration does not have to end when the evening does. Ten rooms in the house and nine cottages and apartments across the grounds allow guests to stay close, gather again for breakfast, and make a weekend of it.

Begin the conversation

Tell us what you are imagining,
and we will help shape the rest.

A wedding at Douneside begins with a conversation, not a package. Share the kind of day you have in mind and the team will guide you towards the right scale, rhythm and use of the estate.
