Alex

Alex is our Front of House Manager and has been an integral part of the team since Douneside re-opened in 2016. In her role, she is our chief multitasker – not only does she look after everything to do with reservations, arrivals, and events, but she’s just as great in the restaurant, having previously been our Assistant Restaurant Manager.

One of Alex’s passions (and if pushed, her favourite bit about Douneside!!) is organising weddings – she now has an amazing 20 weddings under her belt! With every one of them special and meticulously planned to perfection.   

Although originally hailing from Sweden, these days Alex is very much a Tarland local, having lived here for over 15 years (she’s even developed a bit of an Aberdonian twang!).

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her young family, walks with the family dog and a glass of wine or two with friends.

5 miles from Douneside towards Ballater is Burn O’Vat by Cambus O May. It’s a lovely circular route with a waterfall and an amazing viewpoint looking over Loch Kinord.
