Dine at Douneside
One simple philosophy, source the best and cook with care
Choose between The Conservatory and The Library, where ingredients come fresh from our kitchen garden and the finest local producers across Royal Deeside and Scotland. Expect thoughtfully chosen wines and a relaxed, attentive service.
Two dining rooms
The same kitchen.
Two different evenings.
All day · Lunch and dinner
The Conservatory
Light pours in from the terrace garden. The space changes with the seasons, the same plants and flowers that grow outside, brought in. Open seven days for dinner. On Saturdays, lunch and afternoon tea are served. Our renowned Sunday Lunch is a particular highlight, attracting guests from near and far.
Three AA Rosettes · Fine dining
The Library
Antiques, open fire, candlelight. The Library is where the tasting menu is served Thursday to Saturday, wine-paired, unhurried, and very much worth the evening. Tables for two to twelve. Private dining available. Non-residents very welcome, reservations essential.
The kitchen garden
Organic and home grown,
exclusively for our guests to enjoy
Most country house hotels source locally. At Douneside it begins eighty yards away. The walled kitchen garden grows over eighty varieties of vegetables, fruit and herbs, all organically tended by the same team that has worked these grounds for years.
Wander our walled kitchen garden before you sit down to dine, and discover the wonderful array of organic fruit and vegetables, grown with care by our gardening team, to be enjoyed in both our restaurants.
Beyond the garden,
only the best of Scotland.
Dining in your cottage
The kitchen comes to your door
Cottage and apartment guests can have dinner delivered directly to their door — the full menu, freshly prepared.
