The Conservatory
Deeside dining that is relaxed yet refined
Light pours in from the terrace garden by day, candles take over by evening. A setting that feels special, yet
comfortable and inviting, perfect for relaxed lunches, intimate dinners, and memorable celebrations together.
The room
Light and airy, led by the garden
The Conservatory restaurant was designed to bring the outdoors in. Shaped by the changing seasons, it fills with garden views, plants, and freshly cut flowers, with the Arts and Crafts terrace just beyond the glass.
Bright and open by day, lunch is served at the weekends overlooking the lawns. As evening falls, candlelight takes over and the atmosphere gently shifts.
Open 7 Days
Relaxed dining, every day.
Open throughout the week, The Conservatory offers relaxed dining from leisurely Saturday lunches and afternoon tea to elegant evening service and our much-loved Sunday Lunch.
Whether joining us after a walk in the gardens, exploring Royal Deeside or celebrating a special occasion, The Conservatory offers seasonal Scottish dining throughout the week.

Sunday lunch
Sunday lunch in Royal Deeside.
Our Sunday lunch is a favourite Douneside tradition, featuring a roast of the day from one of Deeside’s finest butchers, vegetables from the kitchen garden, homemade Yorkshire puddings and gravy. Choose from two courses or three.
Our Sunday lunch is not just about the food. Families gather and make a day of their visit, with time to enjoy the surroundings before or after lunch. A pre-drink in MacRobert’s Reply Bar, and post lunch wander around the beautiful gardens. Booking is essential.
Dinner
When the atmosphere is set.
Dinner is served seven nights a week. The à la carte menu changes seasonally, with daily specials for guests who are enjoying a longer stay.
The wine list is extensive without being daunting. Many guests enjoy an aperitif or digestif in the MacRobert’s Reply Bar, or on the garden terrace, soaking in the views of the infinity lawn.

Served on Saturdays
Afternoon Tea
Three tiers, the kitchen garden's preserves, scones still warm. Served in The Conservatory or, on fine days, on the terrace itself.
Where it comes from
Beyond the garden, only the best of Scotland.
