The Library

Experience The Library Restaurant

This is the North East of Scotland’s only Three AA Rosettes restaurant. A small room with antiques,
an open fire and candlelight. Six courses, paired with wine, served Thursday to Saturday.

The room

Antiques, an open fire,
and candlelight.

The Library is the smaller of the two rooms. Bookcases line the walls, the fire is lit when the evening calls for it, and the lamps are kept low. Our chefs and sommelier will guide you through the evening’s menu, sharing the inspiration behind their selections.

It is the kind of room that asks you to stay a while. We hope you do.

Six courses

What the garden gives, the kitchen turns into dinner.

The tasting menu changes with the seasons. Our chefs walk out to the walled garden each morning, look at what is ready, and that becomes dinner. Beyond the garden, we work with trusted suppliers across Royal Deeside and Scotland, including HM Sheridan in Ballater for meat and fish landed at Peterhead.

Six courses, paced for the evening. Dietary requirements accommodated with sufficient notice. A vegetarian menu is available.

The cellar

Six courses, paired or solo

The wine pairing is designed alongside the menu, with six glasses chosen by our sommelier to complement the progression of the evening — mostly Old World wines, with a few quiet surprises.

If you'd rather choose your own, the full list is yours. There is also a pairing without alcohol — kombuchas, switchels, garden infusions — for guests who'd like the same care taken with what's in their glass.

Private dining

The whole room,
just for you.

The Library seats up to twelve and is often booked exclusively, for milestone birthdays, family gatherings, business dinners, or the evening before a wedding. Same kitchen, same cellar, the room yours alone for the night.
