Hogmanay at Douneside brings together the warmth of the house, the traditions of a Scottish New Year and the quiet beauty of Royal Deeside in winter. The three night stay includes dining, music, ceilidh dancing and time to gather around the fires before welcoming the New Year.

On Hogmanay evening, guests enjoy Champagne and canapés, a black tie dinner, live music and dancing into the small hours. At midnight, Champagne and fireworks mark the arrival of 2027 over the surrounding landscape.

The stay moves from arrival and welcome through to Hogmanay celebrations, a relaxed New Year’s Day and a final breakfast before departure.

Arrival and welcome

Arrive and settle in, then enjoy scones and tea with live music, dinner in The Conservatory and a friendly quiz in MacRobert’s Reply Bar.

Hogmanay celebrations

Enjoy breakfast and lunch before Champagne and canapés, black tie dinner, live music, ceilidh dancing, midnight bells and fireworks.

1 January

A relaxed New Year’s Day

Begin with breakfast, then join the New Year’s Day walk or enjoy quiet time by the fire before tea, music and an informal evening meal.

Breakfast and departure

Enjoy a hearty breakfast, take one last stroll through the grounds and depart with warm memories of the house and estate.

The turn of the year

Midnight over Royal Deeside.

The heart of the celebration is Hogmanay evening: black tie dining, live music, ceilidh dancing and the anticipation of midnight.

As the bells sound, guests gather for Champagne and fireworks, marking the New Year in the stillness of the Aberdeenshire landscape.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required on reservation, with the final 75% non-refundable balance due by 31 October 2026. Reservations cancelled within 60 days of arrival are liable to be charged the full cost of the stay.
