December at Douneside House

December is a magical time at Douneside House.

The House is brought to life with Christmas sparkle. Our fantastic Festive Lunch and Festive Afternoon Tea menus are served during December in our Conservatory Restaurant.

Guests staying overnight will enjoy crackling log fires, mulled wine and our festive dinner menu. We have a variety of special offers which are available throughout the month, including our Tasting Experience special offer where guests experience our six course tasting menu with wine flight served in our award winning Library restaurant, an overnight stay and breakfast.

For something extra special, our three night Hogmanay Package is available from the 30th of December. Bring in 2024 in style with ceilidh dancing, fireworks and the finest food and wine.

This year, we’re delighted to host our first Charity Christmas Walk and Santa’s Grotto. For two days – Monday 11th and 12th of December - the gardens will be transformed into a magical walk of lights and music, leading to Santa’s grotto, hidden in the Douneside walled garden. All proceeds from this event will be donated to two fantastic local children's charities, which we are so pleased to support. Our special thanks to The MacRobert Trust, the charitable organisation which owns and runs Douneside House, for their support in funding this event which means 100% of ticket sale proceeds can be donated to charity.

Douneside Magical Christmas Walk & Santa's Grotto

This December, come and join us at Douneside House to watch the gardens be transformed into a magical spectacle, where the trees and paths will be illuminated in jewel-like colours. Journey through the colourful trail to find Santa's grotto, where you will be able to meet Father Christmas and his head elf. After your walk, warm up by the roaring fire and enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate in the bar. There will also be hot food, mulled wine, and other festive treats available to purchase. The ticket price includes a children's gift and a hot chocolate. All proceeds will go to 'Befriend a Child' and 'GordonRuralAction Baby Bank'
